KTESIBIO'S WATER CLOCK 2

The water clock devised by Ktesibios was the first timepiece that could be used at night, or when the day is cloudy. It was based on the principle of the clepsydra and as described by Vitruvius , had three component parts: a feed tank, a clepsydra and a float vessel;. the mechanism assuring the continuous automatic shifting of the graduated drum is probably the work of later inventors.
